Bushido - Ashigaru (Samurai Infantry)

Alittle over a year ago I realized I finally felt comfortable and confident enough to set out on a new personal project to create my own line of 1/12 scale figures. That project eventually became “Bushido: Samurai and Folklore.” Everything in Bushido is concepted, designed, and sculpted by me (even the logo!) I told my good friends Jason (@sperotoys) and @arlenpelletier about the project, what I wanted to accomplish with it, etc and they both encouraged me to go ahead with it. In doing that, I’ve decided to partner with Spero Toys to handle the production and distribution of it, and release it under their brand, so I can concentrate on artistic end of things!

Bushido is a dark take on Feudal Japan where all of the different Oni, Yokai, and other Mythological beasts are inhabiting the world. I went into painstaking detail to make sure everything was as accurate as possible right down to specific period appropriate knots and wraps on the armor/weapons. I can’t wait to explore some of the folklore side of things for this line and want that to be very much just as important as the human characters (spoilers I already have a huge Oni about 60-70% done 👹) I wanted this project to be something I would want to own first and foremost and I hope you all love it too!
